TENCON 2022 has successfully concluded. Simbury is pleased to exchange insights in enabling and commercializing the semiconductor industry while celebrating the IEEE Hong Kong section 50th anniversary in this flagship technical event.
IEEE Region 10 Conference (TENCON) is the annual flagship technical event of IEEE Region 10. “Hong Kong has hosted TENCON in 1980, 1995 and 2006. In 2021, the Hong Kong IEEE Section received the IEEE Outstanding Large Section Award in recognition of its successful efforts in fulfilling the educational and scientific goals of IEEE.” Dr. Meikei Ieong, Chairman of Simbury, IEEE Special Projects Oversight Committee Chair and IEEE Fellow praised, “We are honorable that Hong Kong is the host country to organize and celebrate the section’s 50th anniversary in this year.”
During the event, Dr. Ieong said, “Next generation talent is one of the important assets to foster semiconductor industry’s development. Universities in Hong Kong such as City University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology have launched degree programmes in Microelectronics in nurturing high-calibre talents with knowledge and skills prepared for employment and postgraduate studies.”
Dr. Ieong exchanged views in the panel discussion, “We are thrilled to the establishment of Microelectronics Centre (MEC) of Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation at Yuen Long INNOPARK equipped with flexible design dedicated cleanroom and special chemical handling facilities. We look forward to new generation micro-electronics products developed and pilot produced in MEC.”
