Simbury in Opening Ceremony of Sensory Stitches developed by AiDLab

Sensory Stitches Exhibition – Intelligent Intuitive Illuminative organized by Laboratory for Artificial Intelligence in Design (AiDLab) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) was successfully held from 8 to 13 September 2022, Simbury is glad to exchange ideas of applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in the intelligent textile system during the opening ceremony.

Developed by Dr. Jeanne Tan, Centre Assistant Director, AiDLab and Associate Professor, Photonics Research Institute of PolyU and her team, Sensory Stitches features the intelligent textile system with AI-based gesture recognition utilising deep learning and computer vision with polymeric optical fibres to generate instant response through coloured illuminations.

“We are excited to see a cross-disciplinary application on AI applying in photonic textile, it creates more imagination on how human interact with lighting textile,” said Dr. Ryan Chung, CEO, Simbury. “As an AI chip provider, our patented chip architecture and proprietary algorithms are able to achieve an ultra-low power consumption which is more energy saving without sacrificing intelligence.

Looking forward, Simbury is dedicated to the collaboration with AiDLab and other research institutes to advance and develop new technology applications. AI and mentality are key to create impactful user experiences which allows virtual worlds to truly come to life.
